‘Thanks for the offer but I don’t want to’
It’s the truth but it’s a brave individual who can actually say it.
Instead we scramble for a reason why we can’t do it.
Because how could anyone hold a grudge when you already have a prior engagement?
You could even pretend that you actually want to attend to soften the blow.
The ultimate goal is to avoid lying and be confident enough to say no without any qualms but in the meantime it’s a doctor appointment for me.
