What’s interesting about makeover shows is that the person about to be transformed never needs convincing.
They already know they need to make a change and not only that, they can accurately pick specific areas in which they need to change.
Wardrobe, diet, exercise.
The readiness with which they provide these answers makes me believe that they’ve known what they needed to do for a while.
But then my question is – if they’ve known for so long then why haven’t they made the change themselves?
Why do they need a film crew to show up to their door to finally action what they know they always should have done?
Because, to answer my own question, I think change is hard!
The status quo can be difficult to shift, especially when it’s not an emergency.
Constantly adapting can be exhausting.
You need habits to save on brainpower and unfortunately old habits die hard and creating new ones can be laboursome.
