It used to be common for Netflix to release an entire season in one go.
But now I think the powers that be have figured out that drip feeding is better.
Binging on a TV show means consuming the entire series within 48 hours and forgetting the whole show within a week.
Releasing all episodes at once leaves no room for anticipation, for excited water cooler chats or speculation.
Binging is moreso a display of perseverance than enjoyment.
Discussing the hero’s chances of survival is not as engaging when you already know if she lives or dies at the end.
