CEO is cc’ed

Organisations tend to tier their problems.

The cleaner just has to worry about removing today’s stain.

The CEO has to think about the big picture. Issues like what direction is the company moving in and where the will they be in five years time.

Therefore one can gauge the importance of a conversation by the authority levels of the participants.

Therefore if the system error you discover eventually comes across the desk of those at the top then you know you’ve hit on something big.

The same is true for mistakes and praise.

If the CEO is emailing you personally to congratulate you on your work then you’re likely to feel that you added an exceptional amount of value to the company.

Likewise if the COO is being alerted to your mistake then it feels like you royally fecked up.
