The sword swallower pulled the sword out of his oesophagus to a weak round of applause and you could just tell he was expecting more of a reaction.
I feel for the sword swallower.
It’s a very cool trick and I don’t know anyone else who can do it but it’s just not interesting enough in today’s world.
The internet has set the bar way too high for remarkable content.
Had he performed that trick 50 years ago, I have no doubt he would have brought the house down.
Unfortunately his audience have higher standards for standing ovations.
Standards that can be seen as annoying and unattainable or fantastic opportunities to push oneself to reach new heights.
