Needless to say venting is different to confrontation.
When you’re venting you have free rein. You can say whatever you like safe in the knowledge that there will be no retribution. You don’t need to tip toe around in fear of touching egg shells, instead you seek out the egg shells and crush them into a fine powder.
But when the reason for the complaints arrives watch the complainer clam up, shut up shop and go mute.
Because it’s an entirely different proposition to complain to their faces. It feels very confrontational and the majority of people hate confrontation.
So, if you fear complaints and want to influence testimony, just be present and watch the narrative change from an all out attack to ‘actually nevermind, it’s fine’.
