Telling Gorseth’s story

When Gorseth isn’t in the room and his story is relevant and you’re not bad mouthing him I totally get telling his story.

But when the protagonist is in the room, within earshot and listening to their story being told by someone else, then I, an audience member, want to hear them tell it, not a secondhand version of it.

It’s a human behavior I find peculiar and to hazard a guess at why it happens maybe it’s to spare the other if they’re cripplingly shy?

Maybe it’s a way to keep eyes on you rather than giving it away to someone else?

Maybe it’s a way to control the room?
