Author intent

Both Fiona Brennan and Katherine Morgan Schafler extolled the virtues of self compassion in their books.

But they did so in different ways.

Brennan glossed over it and essentially said:

This habit is the key to success, do it

Whether as Morgan Schafler plumbed the depths of why it’s enemy self criticism comes about, the subtleties of it, the many forms this adversary takes, the loopholes it uses and finally example phrases to combat it.

I felt I got more value for my money with Morgan Schafler.

I thought I had a better chance of overcoming my inner critic now that I knew more about it.

It was apparent to me that both authors wrote with different intentions.

Brennan simply wanted to get it down on paper.

Morgan Schafler wanted to change the reader.
