Paulo came to the studios with his songs half finished.
He felt the song would improve with more feedback, more external ideas, more eyeballs looking at the problem.
Juan presented his songs to the rest of the group fully finished.
Juan detested being dragged into the quagmire of too many cooks and his song being ripped apart based on others opinions.
So he retained control and would declare his songs complete moments after unveiling them.
Paulo and Juan both feel their way is best.
Juan’s is more efficient but I think Paulo’s way could make for better songs.
See I think feedback is the crucial ingredient.
So if Paulo’s song is crap he’ll know before it’s even recorded and can adapt easily.
If Juan’s song is crap he’s only going to find out when the album hits the record stores and by then it’s too late.
