Gary found out that Dimphne was talking shit behind his back.
He confronted her about it.
Dimphne confessed that it was a mistake, she was drunk and regretted it as soon as she said it.
She felt terrible and hated herself for doing it.
Gary listened up until this point and then walked away leaving Dimphne feeling devastated.
Some time passed.
It was Gary’s birthday and Dimphne left a present for him outside his door and texted him about it to make sure he got it.
Gary left her on ‘read’.
Now from what I know of the situation I think what Dimphne did wasn’t all that bad and it appears that she genuinely feels terrible about it.
So, what I think is really happening is Gary is finding it easier to hate than forgive.
You see forgiving would require a lot of letting go of resentment and Gary is not feeling up for that.
He’d rather just cut ties and say you’re dead to me Dimphne.
Now, I think if this is true, Dimphne, girl, you don’t need such a bitter presence in your life.
Apologize as much as you think is necessary and then move on. Don’t spend eternity feeling guilty for this.
