The celebrity is drinking their cup of coffee, talking to their mate when a fan comes up and asks for a pic.
The celebrity complies. Click. Click.
The fan thanks the celebrity and then goes on their merry way.
Now the rest of the cafe sees that you can take a pic with this celebrity and you won’t be annihilated.
So they start to queue up.
One fan after another takes a pic and then goes on their merry way.
Now what I find interesting about it all is that the fans just want a pic with the celebrity.
They don’t want to sit down beside them and talk. They just want proof that they were beside this famous person for a moment. So that they can tell their friends more convincingly or they can pull in those likes on social media.
As Dara O’ Briain says, from the celebrity point of view, you might as well be a statue.
