Second time round

In the US Office when Pam was handling Michael’s calls she would wait til after his first greeting to patch through the call.

Her logic being – he was better second time round.

And sure enough, Michael’s second attempts were always more professional and appropriate than his first.

The show did it well and I see some merit to it.

Some people’s intial reactions are not align with their core values.

Maybe they panicked or felt the pressure of being put on the spot and they just needed a second or a deep breath to engage their wiser more authentic self.
