Sport has an incredible capacity to bring a community together.
Now it’s fickle.
It relies on the team winning.
But if they are, consistently, it creates this amazing sense of momentum.
This tangible positivity that unites strangers in a common goal.
I think the key element is hope.
The die hard fans will attend the matches during the depressing hard times but the fair weather fans will arrive and bring with them all the momentum when there is strong belief that the team will win the competition.
