The office friend

I wonder how far off we are from appointing employees to be ‘The office friend’.

Because let’s face it, the social side of things is an important aspect of settling into a new job and the company can’t force the new hire’s team to be friendly.

If they’re not arsed they won’t do it.

Also there’s a strong retention case in it too.

One deterrent to leaving a company is the pain of leaving the people you know and get on with so well.

So how long before the corporate world tasks one person to practice their emotional intelligence all day long?
