Panic and permanence

Panic reared in Ted’s head.

He grabbed hold of it, mentally.

‘Oh god, I’m feeling panicked!’

Then another thought entered the brain of Theodore – this will always be the case.

Ted took this thought of permanence mixed it in with the panic and before anyone knew what was happening he was curled up on the floor in the foetal position.

Jenny handles panic a different way.

If it’s a feeble version then she feels the panic and goes about her day.

If it’s a particularly powerful dose then she removes herself from company, takes a few deep breathes, power poses and looks to bring her adrenaline levels down.

Why?

Because Jenny knows there’s no fighting panic when it’s so strong.

She knows if she stands any chance at not turning into a Ted, then she needs to reduce panic to a manageable size and altering her chemical state is a great way to do that.
