Gungans, Aretes, and Kasdan

There was the Gungans. The Aretes. And a go between called Kasdan.

Now Kasdan, standing between the Gungans and the Aretes saw that the Gungans were much more powerful, aggressive, and intimidating.

So he quickly decided that he would do everything he could to please them.

This seemed like a sound strategy.

One that would keep his head on top of his shoulders.

But it turned out to be a short term strategy because quickly the Gungans noticed this bias and started taking advantage of it.

This made the Aretes livid. Normally a peaceful people, their patience was wearing thin as their rights were being violated again and again. Now, having been pushed to the brink, they are threatening to terminate the treaty, kill Kasdan and wage war with the Gungans.

The Gungans heard this and now they were pissed.

Now Kasdan is in a pickle.

His short term thinking coupled with his disregard for the Aretes is going to get him in more trouble than had he just negotiated fairer terms with the Gungans in the first place.
