Liking and compassion

I think for most people their supplies of compassion are reserved for those they like.

If I like them, I’m compassionate. If I don’t like them then they can go have sex with themselves.

And I think to leave the padawan status behind and finally attain Jedi knighthood you must uncouple liking and compassion.

So you can not like someone and still feel compassion for them.
