Zoo animals

It’s funny when you visit the zoo you often hear the comment …

“It’s such a shame these animals are in cages like that, they should be out in the wild!”

The irony I see is that you could argue the human body was built for nature but those who make these comments don’t live in jungles.

They have picked a corporate zoo.

Similar to the Lions they are supervised in cordoned off areas for lengthy periods of time.

Similar to the giraffes they have come to relax around their next meals because with their paychecks, survival goes to the back of the mind.

If animals could talk and we offered them the safety and security of a zoo or the freedom and stress of fending for your life on the savannah 24/7, I wouldn’t be surprised if a lot of em picked the zoo.

Look at how many humans choose to not use their brains!

Is it only a shame because they were captured against their will?

Let’s take domesticated dogs for example.

Most of them are well cared for and they probably know the layout of their homes well enough that they could seize an opportunity to run away if they wanted to.

But most of them don’t because I reckon all they’re really looking for is food and a safe place to sleep.

They’ll put up with the ‘roll over’ and the ‘sit’ in order to get that.

We chose to trade in being hunted by flesh eating tigers but they shouldn’t?

It’s kinda like saying…

“Hercules, you were built for war, you should be out there on the front lines at every opportunity!”

But what if Hercules wants a quiet life? What if he dreams of curling up by the fire with a cuppa and a good book?
