Order scrutinisation

The general had a bright idea – wouldn’t it be great if platoon 15AT were to get all suited and booted and provide a royal guard for the Queen.

He was so delighted with this idea that he wasted no time in telling his lieutenant who immediately gave the orders to the captain, who passed them onto the team leader of the platoon.

Then the team leader of the platoon immediately turned around and said well that’s unlikely to happen because you’ve just sent us halfway across the world and we won’t be back in time to do that.

And that was true just two days earlier the general had sent Platoon 15AT off to complete a mission in Cambodia for three months.

An order that went through all the same people that this recent royal guard order went through.

Which begs the question – Do orders get scrutinized or simply passed on?
