I think the best form of marketing is word of mouth.

I think most marketers would agree with that but also view improving that aspect of the product/service as not their job.

That’s up to customer service or product engineering.

So, marketers don’t go near it for fear of stepping on others’ toes.

I also think the general public are getting better and better at ignoring ads.

Therefore marketers no longer have any silver bullets.

They’re throwing money at the market hoping to gain the attention of a few.

Therefore, not all but some, Heads of Marketing departments see job security not in external performance but in keeping internal stakeholders happy.
