Man of the match

Nobody is likely to argue that Will Jordan didn’t deserve the man of the match award.

He scored three tries!

It’s well known that when you score a hat-trick you pretty much automatically win Man of the Match.

But when you take a closer look you can see that Will Jordan didn’t have to do much to score those tries.

All he did was put the ball down three times.

Compare that to Tony Woodcock who dominated his world-class opponent and delivered a flawless prop performance.

Without Tony doing his job so well New Zealand would not have won the game and arguably Tony is more deserving of the Man of the Match award than Will.

But that’s not how the world celebrates things.
