Thinking out loud is a curious thing.
It’s not meant to be taken seriously, we’re just exploring possibilities here after all but it wouldn’t be wise to throw in a jokey suggestion.
The out loud thinker would not appreciate that.
The exercise says:
“I’m not convinced of this course of action yet, can I get your serious opinion on it?”
Now you couldn’t think out loud over a walkie talkie to a soldier in the battlefield.
They don’t care about the possibilities, they want the decision.
Therefore I posit that thinking out loud is afforded when time is a luxury.
When time is of the essence then I think it’s better to avoid gathering others to think out loud in front of and journaling instead.
Pen + paper + brain dump.
Come to the discussion with your opinion made.
