The social brief

You’ve seen the movie.

The protagonist starts a new school and another kid takes them under their wing and gives them a run down of all the cliques, gangs and posses.

Essentially it’s a briefing on social skills.

“They’re nice. They’re not nice. Avoid X like the plague, he is a huge bully”

A version of that happens in every social setting imaginable.

Your reputation precedes you.

Others will describe you long before the new kid gets to you.

So, it’s best to play well with others, because if the new people are being warned off and the old people get fed up with you, pretty soon you’ll be a social animal on your own.
