This rant is dripping with the fear of failure.
I reckon they don’t actually believe it’s going to work and instead of admitting doubts or coming to terms with impending ‘doom’ they’re going to make a song and dance about the length of the ribbons.
That way they have publicly established a scape goat for the inevitable failure.
