Committing to pessimism

I didn’t expect much from it and I was pleasantly surprised.

So, ok, I thought, I’ll have low expectations for this next night and that way I will strategically have a great night.

But that was superficial pessimism and deep down I knew it.

I was hopeful not despondent and that was my downfall.
