From what I see in the movies, when you’re a pion in the Mafia, survival depends on gauging and mirroring the mob boss’s mood.
Because if you come in singing and whistling when they’re in foul humour, it could mean your life.
People will squash a good mood if it means avoiding getting your head ripped off.
