I think by default people have grown to error on the side of humble rather than cockiness.
Therefore an up-and-comer could take enormous confidence from an established veteran pointing out their strengths.
It may never have crossed their mind or they might have dismissed it in the need to not show arrogance in today’s world.
Then watch their confidence soar as they begin to flex that newly praised strength.
