Death over the years

When you’re a kid you rarely think about death, there’s too much fun to be had.

And when you’re a young adult you’re full of ambition. You want to explore/conquer the world.

Then the reality of costs or hard work sets in and you settle for a more modest lifestyle.

Then you find love and all of sudden death is terrifying because now you’ve got something to lose.

Now you try desperately to control and secure a long and healthy life.

Now you wake up bolt upright in the dark after nightmares of losing a loved one.

Now you can’t even bear to entertain the thought of someone close to you dying.

The mere whiff of it threatens to give you an embarrassing emotional wobble in public.

Better to have loved and lost than never have loved at all?

Hmmm
