“Oh come on now don’t be like that, you’re going to outlive us all!”
That’s what the 20 something year old said to the 90 something year old while the latter lay in a hospital bed.
Now logic would say that is a terrible prediction but wisdom would say that’s the sign of a human struggling to deal with death.
Their heart is in the right place.
They would like to be comforting at this point in time and they don’t know what to say so they reach for something they’ve heard before but if pushed on, would most likely admit they don’t believe.
