For the junior cup team this next game is not just another game.
You might say it’s only a regionals schools game but to them it’s a world cup final.
Because they’re only 15. They haven’t lived long enough to know anything bigger.
They haven’t gained the proper perspective yet.
They have grown up in a rugby mad school and this opportunity only comes around once in a lifetime so their emotions are high.
Eventually they’ll learn that nobody cares whether they won or not.
It would look pathetic to put it on their CV and women are not going to fight each other to date the junior cup winner.
But for now, while they’re in the thick of it, it’s their world cup final.
