I have never felt more in the presence of everyday Zen Buddhism when I hear someone say they’re ready for the worst.
Like take for example jobs.
If someone said they don’t care about their job at all, I would say they are lazy and probably do the bare minimum at work.
But if someone loves their job, works hard at that job while simultaneously accepts the fact that they could be next in the redundancies.
That’s pretty impressive in my book.
They’re not tying themselves in knots to try and control the uncontrollable. They would prefer not to be jobless but are ready to find a new job should it come to it.
