Returning the thought

When it comes to gifts I think there are two ways to get to the decision.

There’s starting with the person. Listing their interests and matching those interests to potential purchases. For example, they like Taylor Swift, now what can I find in the shops that is Taylor Swift related?

Then there’s the route of what do I want but can’t bring myself to buy for myself?

For example, I like the new Lions tour jersey but spending €95 on yet another jersey that I don’t need would make me feel guilty and careless.

But if someone were to buy it for me, I’d be over the moon.

Therefore based on my preferences I have a good idea of what to get other Lions fans.

Because they are most likely having the same thoughts.

That’s why sometimes I think it’s a good idea to buy someone what they bought you in return.

Especially if you share that interest because at some point they thought that would make for a good present.
