Personal Sistine Chapel

When you walk through the Sistine Chapel you marvel at the art work.

The intricacies. The colours.

You pull your fellow holidaymakers over to one side to show them the cool scene within a scene you noticed.

It’s such a rich tapestry. It feels very special.

Everyone would agree, this is a masterpiece worth fawning over.

Then you take a trip to your new partner’s home town.

They show you the buildings they grew up in.

To you, the buildings are merely collections of neatly arranged stones, devoid of art or personality.

But to your partner they see the Sistine Chapel.

‘That’s where I would sneak back into my room after staying out all night”

That generic piece of tarmac is where I fell and broke my arm

“This is where my mum lost her mind at the neighbour for almost killing me with their car”

It’s a rich tapestry only they can see.
