If I were to compare the atmosphere at a women’s rugby world cup game and at a men’s rugby world cup game.
I would say it’s more relaxed and fun at the women’s game.
Which I think is somewhat down to the stage of professionalism of the women’s game but moreso to do with the people who attend.
The gender balance is skewed more towards women and what’s more there are much more families in attendance.
And when kids are brought along, especially at an age where they’re not even watching the game then you know it’s a safe space and the atmosphere more reflects a family day out then the extremely tense do or die, must win at all costs, intensity of the mens game.
