Volunteer tolerance

I think if your business relies on volunteers you should make considerable efforts to make them happy.

Because the tolerance for adversity is way lower than an earning job.

For example when receiving critical feedback at your day job you grin and bear it.

Even though it’s excruciating because this job is paying your mortgage or putting your kids through college.

There is a larger benefit to think about.

But the volunteer isn’t being paid.

So as a business you’re hoping a good feeling will outweigh all the crap they have to put up with.

Therefore I think it’s worthwhile removing as much stress as possible from the volunteer experience.

Because as soon as the difficulties start to weigh the same as the good feeling on those scales quitting is going to cross their mind.
