Some Taskmaster contestants provide great entertainment not in their jobs but in their conflicted personalities.
So you suspect they come on the show, because it provides a good platform to expose oneself to a new type of audience that might come to like you and wish to see you do stand-up.
Therefore there is a career benefit to being upbeat and jolly on the show.
But they count points on the show, which means there will be a winner. And the points are awarded in a random confusing manner.
So you start to see the competitive nature of some comedians who can’t help their desire to win.
Some remain calm because they know it’s ludicrous to try and actually win the ridiculous ever changing and confusing game.
But some are torn between the short term desire to win the game show and the drive to be likable and win over a new audience.
