I think there are many forms of perfectionism.
Including the vision of a perfectly productive day.
Take for example you’re leaving the house to donate clothes to the charity shop and just as you’re leaving, the thought enters your mind that you should also take the empty bottles to the new deposit return scheme.
Oh yeah good idea!
So, you add the bag of empty cans and bottles to the bags of clothes for the charity shop.
Then you see the bin needs taking out, so you add that to the list of things you have to carry.
And eventually the ‘perfect’ scenario gets in the way of the ‘productive’ scenario as you are struggling to carry three tonnes of bags down the street in triple the time you could have done the original trip.
