I think the theories and hype around Stranger Things season 5 proves that it’s better to do incremental releases rather than the entire series at once.
There’s more tension and excitement with one episode at a time.
You can have cliffhangers that last weeks or months instead of seconds.
Also it leaves room for people to talk about the show and theorise what’s to come next which is arguably the best part of TV shows.
If you release all the episodes at once people complete it at different times.
The person who watched the entire series in one night can’t speculate with those taking it one episode per week because they already know all the answers and if they’re sound they don’t want to reveal any spoilers.
Audiences can go on a journey together.
All at once, also means you forget it quicker.
I can’t remember the majority of what happened in previous Stranger Things series because what happened was – I binged it, completed it, and moved on.
I spent one weekend thinking about Stranger Things rather than 8 weeks.
