Overacting

It looks like Jane has fallen asleep on the couch but it seems wrong because she was engaged in conversation two minutes ago.

It turns out to be fake as when Connie suggests leaving, Jane springs up from the couch and heads straight to the door.

It didn’t appear to be a joke, this seemed to be Jane’s chosen method for communicating to Connie that she wanted to leave.

Also to be clear Jane is old enough to know better.

Which suggests to me that Jane either didn’t have the confidence in her verbal communication skills or in how deserving she was in making a small request like asking to leave.
