I think the ego loves the unspoiled label of:
“Written and directed by: …”
That kind of movie credit means you can claim 95% of the praise if it’s a success.
I think the ego hates the buried generic credit of:
“Walking man #14: …”
Your character didn’t even get a name, that’s how forgettable your role was.
I think everyone’s ego wants to take pride in something it’s just the levels that vary.
