Picture the scene, I’m standing on the station platform waiting for the train.
I deliberately chose this spot in case the train was a short one.
The train starts to pull into the station and everyone on the platform starts walking along the platform toward the front carriage.
The train that pulled in was the length of the platform.
They could have stayed still waiting for the train to stop and get on the carriage right in front of them.
But instead a large group of the soon to be passengers were walking alongside the slowing down train.
It was so weird.
Everyone had been somewhat evenly spaced out on the platform before the train arrived (honouring personal space and all that) and then that was all abandoned for everyone piling down to one end of the platform.
My guess is, one panicky person started walking and they triggered another panicky person and pretty soon a large cohort are marching down the platform terrified of not getting on.
