The critic has no ideas of their own.
They’re just looking for something to criticize.
They don’t appreciate the difficulties facing the man in the arena.
They just want to tell you it’s wrong and let you do all the problem solving.
But a collaborator voices their concerns, immediately follows up with their suggestions for improvements and troubleshoots with you until you find a satisfactory resolution.
Alternatively if it can’t be figured out, the collaborator is curious about the nuances and comes to appreciate its more complicated than they thought and accepts whatever decision you make.
And is more supportive from then on out.
The critic thinks they’re helping, the collaborator actually helps.
