I think the term snowflake generation has an insulting conatation to it.
I imagine people use it to imply fragility and not uniqueness.
And I think the best way to counter this negativity is to liken them to heroin addicts.
Imagine getting hooked on heroin at the vulnerable age of 12 and having an everlasting supply of heroin in your pocket at all times.
So whenever life gets difficult or even just mildly boring, you can pull out the heroin from your pocket and escape the hardship.
What’s more, this type of heroin isn’t banned by the government.
Most parents don’t know the full effects of the heroin.
In fact a lot of parents are getting their children hooked on this kind of heroin from the age of 2 just to shut them up.
Yes other generations had their challenges but the so called ‘snowflake’ generation has to somehow maintain their sanity in a world that is pushing devices and platforms that damage mental health at them from all angles.
It is an adversity that should not be underestimated or ridiculed.
I daresay you could take anyone from history and give them the same upbringing as Gen Z and see how much more anxious they would be.
