The Tao talks about the flow of the universe and getting into that natural slipstream.
Which sounds a lot like fate.
But may be a more palatable version of the ‘wider plan’ to those who grew up around people who rubbished sayings like ‘Everything happens for a reason’
The Tao and it’s Wu Wei sound more intellectual and therefore more acceptable to believe in.
