Mozzarella Peach Sandwich

For a child the world is a wonderful place full of novelty and exploration.

But then when you get to a certain age it’s very easy to become jaded because there’s less and less new in the world.

You’ve been to Disneyland, you’ve seen Star Wars, you’ve tried escargots.

You can see the echoes and iterations of the original. Hopelessness can easily set in as so much motivation can be traced back to money.

You can’t travel the world because it’s too expensive.

Also with all your travels you’re becoming increasingly aware of globalisation and it’s becoming harder and harder to find a culture completely different to yours.

There’s a lot more monotony in the working world than you would like.

Then for some unknown reason you find yourself mildly interested in a cafe across town that claims to have perfected the mozzarella and peach sandwich.

But then you’re immediately confronted with the reasonable question – is this what your life has come to? Peach and mozzarella sandwiches!

It’s a good point.

You would hope you can find more exciting things to do with your free time.

But at the same time, surely a peach and mozzarella sandwich is a better imperfect step and reason to get out of the house.

Rather than waiting around for a UFO to land in your back garden.

I think reaching the conclusion that you are insignificant and life is pointless should immediately be followed up with:

Ok but what now? Do we just sit around and wait for death?
