Gift vouchers are a great idea for businesses because they always end up with great return on investment.
Nobody quibbles about paying up front, so you get the cash straight away.
Then a lot of times people will forget about gift vouchers so then as a business you don’t have to give away any stock.
Or they claim some of the voucher and not all of it. I’ve done this countless times, there’s a couple of euro left and I consider it too awkward to redeem so I just toss it in the bin.
Another scenario where the business gets more money than value in the trade.
Or they use the voucher to spend even more money, taking a discount off the bill.
Finally there’s a sense of obligation with gift vouchers. You could reach a new kind of audience because people hate waste.
