When the setbacks occur, I think there can be an internal pressure to immediately get back on the horse.
Don’t for a second let the sadness in!
Now I’m no psychologist, but in my experience I think that the healthier option could be to create the space for those negative emotions.
Watch them simmer in the frying pan that is your brain.
You might ask to what end?
These are murky waters I’m entering into now but it could lead to a greater appreciation of the good times?
Maybe more empathy for those going through tough times?
Possibly deeper gratitude for the lesser of evils?
Potentially make you less scared of being scared and more likely to access the entire emotional intelligence spectrum?
