Bounces away

That conversation topic has a forcefield around it. Whenever we get close to the subject the conversation just bounces away. Why? Because within that protected area is a sad truth that we do not want to confront. So we deflect, distract, and change the subject.

Why does Dwight do your laundry? A good question can do all the heavy lifting. A good question reveals an astute observer. A good question followed up by an unwillingness to break the silence can provide the answer you're looking for.

Quiet v cocky

It's funny when the quiet shy person made a mistake, nobody made fun of them. But when the cocky loud mouth made a mistake, everyone openly mocked them cruelly. It seems that it feels justified to take someone down a peg or two but feels like bullying to mock the defenceless.
