'Oh that's interesting' Is a much nicer phrase to say about the contents of one's brain. It also shows more tolerance for the weird and the wild that our noggin throws into the mix. Berating oneself for mad or bad thoughts is like beating a dog for wanting food.

Curveball incoming
It's a lazy Sunday.I have the whole day to myself. The neurotic part of my brain has, unprovoked, already started creating a to-do list. But the lazy part says:Ah, we have all day to do that stuff, let's stay in bed a bit longer and watch TikToks. Time passes and you feel like you're starting to become … Continue reading Curveball incoming
The softer way
If you say no right away you look like an uncooperative stubborn mule. But if you say sure we can look into that and let the bad idea show it's weakness for you then you can say 'that was a stupid idea' in a softer way without picking their egos. "Hmm we might be caught … Continue reading The softer way

Then there was that overly aggressive eye contact from that jay walker. Then I arrived at my … Continue reading Life’s flow

See, she had worked out the dynamic. When she won, the lawyer sent an email. But when her ex-husband … Continue reading Capgillus’ inbox
After the red mist left
It was after everything had calmed down and he was still arguing for his innocence, that's when I knew he still had work to do anger management wise. You see, from everyone else's point of view, he lost the plot, and his punishment was inevitable from his actions. So, I thought once everything had calmed … Continue reading After the red mist left
Coupe et charmant
To be charming in public and cutting in private, this is, I think, a telltale sign of a bully. Like a Lion stalking its prey, the bully knows that there is strength in numbers and you're more likely to be weak and defenceless on your own. Especially if they think you struggle with confrontation.
No perspective
For the junior cup team this next game is not just another game. You might say it's only a regionals schools game but to them it's a world cup final. Because they're only 15. They haven't lived long enough to know anything bigger. They haven't gained the proper perspective yet. They have grown up in … Continue reading No perspective
