It's funny how walking around someone's apartment can quickly tell you where you rank in their lives.Do you feature in any of the pictures up on the wall?Is your card standing on top of the cupboard? Can you mask your emotions as you realize you're lower down the list then you thought?

One of 6 billion
It's funny you can live in your own little bubble for so long and then you go to a busy city like London and witness rush hour and all of a sudden you remember you're one of 6 billion. You're indifferent to their problems and they're indifferent to yours. An earth shattering revelation to you doesn't break … Continue reading One of 6 billion
Too much of a good thing
I should've known better but I didn't stop. I just kept loading up on rave review after rave review and unbeknownst to me, my expectations were becoming impossibly high. So much so, that I created my own disappointment when the reality inevitably didn't live up to my imagination.
Social sacrifices
Social sacrifices - these are the time and effort you spend staying up to date on a certain topic with the sole purpose of participating in a certain conversation. For example you have no interest whatsoever in Love Island but you watch it every night because that's all the parents talk about at the school … Continue reading Social sacrifices
Tension-less
I think the problem with trying to sum up an entire life in a movie/play is that there's no real tension. It's just an unfolding of events. I think to maximize the joy you should enlist anticipatory joy. I think when your audience knows and loves … Continue reading Mizzoni’s pizza surprise
Lecturer types
I think there is a number of reasons why people become lecturers. Some love the teaching aspect, the knowledge sharing and nurturing of minds. They get a kick out of seeing someone progress, ask the right questions, inquire deeper, and master a topic. Some crave the academia and furthering of their own knowledge and clearly … Continue reading Lecturer types
The social brief
You've seen the movie. The protagonist starts a new school and another kid takes them under their wing and gives them a run down of all the cliques, gangs and posses. Essentially it's a briefing on social skills. "They're nice. They're not nice. Avoid X like the plague, he is a huge bully" A version … Continue reading The social brief
Here temporarily
Morgan had only known permanent jobs. That was until he planned to emigrate and found himself with a week free and in need of cash. So, he sought his uncle and his filling station. Soon he found the benefits of the short contract. There was no pressure to prove oneself or to build something for … Continue reading Here temporarily
